JUSTICE KURIAN JOSEPH

Justice Kurian Joseph is a former Judge of the Supreme Court of India. He was appointed as the Government Pleader for the Government of Kerala in 1987. Afterward, he was appointed as the Additional Advocate General of the High Court of Kerala representing the Government of Kerala from 1994 to 1996 and then became a Designated Senior Advocate of the High Court of Kerala in the year 1996. He was appointed as a Judge of the High Court of Kerala on 12th July 2000. In February 2010, he was appointed the Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh. He was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court in 2013. He is one of the ten judges in the history of the Indian Supreme Court to deliver more than a thousand judgments. While on the bench he demonstrated his support for the speedy delivery of justice by disposing of more than 8600 cases pending in the Supreme Court of India. Since his retirement in 2018, he has constantly worked as an arbitrator and a mediator. He is currently a member of the Arbitration Panel of the Delhi International Arbitration Centre.
