Internship program for law students and psychology students

Sambhav Initiative’ believes that real change can only be brought in society if young minds are nurtured with care and dedication. We aim to create a network of law students and psychology students who shall act as changemakers in society.

Roles and Responsibilities

Create awareness regarding Mediation, Lok Adalat, Goal 16 of SDG, free legal aid services, and the importance of mental health.
Conduct surveys and take interviews of people, especially those residing in villages, slums, and labour colonies, so that the ground reality can be understood and timely help can be provided.
Organize literacy camps, workshops, and seminars in rural as well as urban areas with an objective to make people self-reliant by making them aware of their rights and duties under various social welfare legislations.
Assist in free counseling sessions for people suffering from mental health conditions.
Assist in the smooth functioning of mediation and conflict resolution centers.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Founder/Head.

Position

  • • Every student shall join the ‘Sambhav Initiative’ as an intern for a period of one month.
  • • The tenure can be extended based on the performance.
  • • The performance shall be accessed by the Head of the Department.

Join as delegates

Law students and psychology students, Students of other fields such as mass communication, MSW students, political science, social science, or any other undergraduate student who wants to be part of revolution are eligible to apply for the position of the delegate.

Training

Extensive training shall be provided to all the delegates by the management to aid them in shouldering the responsibilities that shall be vested in them. Network of pro bono professionals

Sambhav Initiative aims to create a noteworthy network of pro bono professionals, which shall include mediators, conciliators, advocates, and psychologists. Our network of mediators, conciliators, and advocates shall play an instrumental role in assisting, aiding, facilitating, and guiding the disputing parties for an amicable settlement of their conflicts. Our team of psychologists shall help people suffering from mental health issues cope with their problems efficiently and effectively by providing pro bono counseling services and expert advice. We believe in providing competent services at minimal cost via our platform called the ‘ समाधान द्वार.

Guidelines for the network of Pro Bono Professionals

Eligibility criteria for pro bono advocates:

The advocates should have three years of advocacy experience to be eligible to be part of the network of pro bono advocates.

Eligibility criteria for pro bono Mediators :

The mediators should have mandatorily completed training as well as been accredited by a recognized institution and/ or MCPC.

Eligibility criteria for pro bono Psychologist :

The Psychologist should complete a master's in psychology with 1 year of Experience.

Selection procedure:

The Sambhav initiative will call the short-listed candidates for a virtual interview. The interview shall be conducted by the members of the Advisory board and shall be assessed on criteria such as knowledge, aptitude, honesty, commitment/ spirit to render the society.

Tenure and Report Submission Criteria:

The professional shall be appointed for one year commencing from the date of confirmation, subject to review of the performance/work done by each professional. In order to ensure an effective check on the legal service rendered, the professional shall be required to submit case wise report.

Removal from the panel:

If the performance of the panel pro bono professional is found to be unsatisfactory, and/or the professional is found guilty of charging, collecting, or demanding any remuneration from the aided person in any form, and/or has been accused of an offense, and/or has become physically or mentally incapable of acting in a competent manner, and/or has so abused his/her position, and/or is proved of misconduct in any manner as to render his/her continuance prejudicial to the public interest.

Sambhav Parivaar

‘Sambhav Initiative’ aims to foster oneness and unity in people in society by creating a network of change-makers. We believe that every individual has the potential to create a revolution in society irrespective of their profession, knowledge, age, disabilities, etc. In light of the same, the Sambhav Initiative provides membership to teenagers, law students, housewives, transgenders, old aged people, individuals belonging to the marginalized and disadvantaged sectors of the society, physically challenged, psychologists, students of psychology, etc.

    Functions of the Members of Sambhav Parivaar

  • • Create awareness regarding Mediation, Lok Adalat, Goal 16 of SDG, free legal aid services, and the importance of mental health.
  • • Attend the sessions of legal literacy under the ‘ Aatam Saksham Abhiyan’ with utmost sincerity and in the process encourage others to become self-sufficient in terms of being aware of their rights and duties under various social welfare legislations.
  • • Volunteer in organizing various literacy and mental health campaigns in the rural as well as the urban areas.
  • • Perform other duties as assigned by the Founder.
